Applicants must bring a valid National Identification Card (Ghana Card) or Passport. If renewing, upgrading, or transferring a license, you must also bring your existing driver's license. If you require eyeglasses or contact lenses for driving, bring them to the test as well.

What are the DVLA vision requirements for driving in Ghana?

For a Learner's License, applicants must meet a minimum visual acuity of 6/12 in the better eye. For a Driver's License or upgrade, the standard is 6/9 in the better eye. The weaker eye must have an acuity of 6/60 or better. Additionally, a minimum uninterrupted horizontal binocular visual field of 120 degrees is required.

Do I need an appointment for a DVLA eye test at Premier Vision?

No prior medical appointment is required. Walk-in applicants are processed during our normal operating hours (Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). However, pre-registering online speeds up the check-in process.

Under Ghanaian road traffic safety regulations (Road Traffic Regulations, 2012 L.I. 2180), all driving license applicants and renewals must undergo accredited vision testing. Verify your compliance metrics below:
